Register. Identify.Locate. Transfer.
NZ Boat Register is a free digital record platform for recreational boats, watercraft and marine gear in New Zealand. Add identification with AquaTAG, location awareness with AquaGPS, and transfer registered records when items change hands.
STEP 01
Register
Create a free digital record for your boat, kayak, jet ski, trailer or gear. Store photos, serial numbers, identifying features, and emergency contacts in one secure place.
STEP 02
Identify
Link an AquaTAG NFC identification tag to your registered asset. When scanned by any NFC-enabled smartphone, it shows selected public details and enables secure contact - no app required, no private details exposed.
STEP 03
Locate
Link an AquaGPS device to your registered asset. Location awareness across One NZ cellular and satellite coverage, from driveway to 85 nautical miles offshore. Geofence alerts, location sharing, and fleet tracking included.
STEP 04
Transfer
When your boat or asset changes hands, transfer the digital record to the new registered owner. The full ownership history, linked AquaTAG, and linked AquaGPS all carry across.
